Oxygen Sensor issue solved( DTC 17585 )
After getting piggies a while back, I got a CEL for 02 sensors. I finally got around to replacing 3 of 4 O2 senors, but the CEL stayed. I was getting a 17585 code. Typically this, when paired with 17584, means that you have swapped your secondary 02 sensors. I just had the single code- so clearly I didn't swap my sensors. After fiddling around, I found a pinhole exhaust leak in the weld for the 02 bung on my driver side down pipe. It was so small, I couldn't even hear it- until I put my ear next to the sensor while the car was running.
A little muffler mender (don't use regular JBWeld- that will melt), and the CEL was gone.
Congrats to Rob at EuroDesign in Leominster, MA for his crappy work at welding on an O2 bung- yet another reason I'll never go to that hackjob shop , assuming it is still in business (admittedly, the piggies I gave him had that o2 bung on the wrong side, so he added a new one in the correct location... however his welding SUCKED).
Problem solved now- no more CEL!
Just some advice for the archives.
