Pads for 4-piston Alcon Stasis: SBS Pro-track or Ferodo 2500?

Anyone has tried both SBS and Ferodo 2500 on Stasis?

What are the pros/cons?

DS2500 are a good street pad...Pro-Track are a decent track pad.

I have used SBS Pro Touring and DS2500s on the street. Both provide good bite and little to no noise. I would say the SBS are a little more dusty than the Ferodo's.

If you're looking for a track pad, go with the Pro-Race rather than the Pro-Track.

would be dual use

To be honest I may say go with the Pro-Touring then

I use them as my street pads but have used them a few times at the track. Good dual use pad IMHO.

FWIW - I have 6-piston 355mm up front and the Alcon 300mm rear upgrade

wtf I just replied to myself instead of you....see above

there was a write-up of a whole bunch of pads and DS2500 was rated as THE ONLY poper dual pad...

Stasis said they're pretty much the same, but there's not much known about SBS while there's a lot of experience with DS2500 (VW, Audi, BMW, etc)... having a hard time finding good info.

Thnx

Where can you source the Ferodo pads that fit the Alcon 4 pot?

Enigmagic 12-20-2007 08:58 AM

stasis stocks them

I went with Jason's (Stasis) suggestion of SBS track on the street and am very happy with them...

I drove a friends car that had Ferrodo 2500s on Stoptech and we both agreed the SBS were better on the street. I went with SBS since that is where most of the use is. Also, I would recommend using 2 pads as I understand the SBS track pads will fade by the end of a 20 minute session. Plus, swapping pads on Alcons is really easy and the SBS race are not that bad on the street if you get busy and can't swap for a couple days. Helps git rid of deposits, but is tough on rotors if left on for too long.

Re: the 300mm rear upgrade at the track - can you elaborate on your impressions? I've

read some positive reviews, but have also heard to be careful about too much rear bias causing the rears to go into ABS before the front.
