Default Paranoid after first 1000 miles

I just reached the 1000 mile mark for my 2002 S4. During those first 1000 miles I never went above 80mph, and I took it easy on the brakes, no harsh stops. I didn't really push it, but it feels like my acceleration was better when I first got the car. Also, I feel like it takes longer for the engine oil to heat up, so I can punch it. Any comments, please reply. What are your ecperiences with breaking the car in?

Harris

Default You are just getting used to it.

I'm told that you get the same feeling when you chip it. It feels sick the first couple days then you adjust and think that the car is slowing down.

Default Lots of internal friction during first 1000 miles or longer, so engine will heat up faster when new

and then once the engine is broken in, the friction is reduced (which is a good thing). I noticed the same thing about my car. Fortunately we have another car with low HP, so I will drive that one day during the week, and then the switch to the S4 makes it feel torque-crazy all over again. (Rental car will have same effect!) Good luck and enjoy!

Default What time you thinking?

I'll call you up if you go. Two cars is plenty for me. .

I've held the camera mount. Nice piece of equipment. I want a bumper mount camera. That is true WRC style vids. I just need to get a camcorder which supports recording from external sources.
