PES wheel nightmare...
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/53425/smallnewshoes.jpg"></center><p>well after having wheels balanced, moved around, and mounting the spare wheel, I can finally admit defeat..
I cant get the wheels to balance out satisfactoraly... get a bad shimmy at about 55...
they sure looked good...
but alas the stock wheels are back on..
and to top it all off cv boot tore open somehow..
I want to push the car into the river..<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/threads/567651.phtml#2177562">back story...</a></li></ul>

might not be the wheels...
especially with the mention of your CV boot issue. Could it be the cv joint or axle is giving you the shimmy? I'm replacing my bad CV tomorrow, and i'm pretty sure it's causing my high speed vibrations.
If the wheels are balanced, I wouldn't blame them. I'd start looking elsewhere. I'd be willing to bet you'll still have the shimmy with your other wheels.

I just had that exact same problem with my BBS CH's
They were brand new, I'm talking only a few days old! I take them to Discount Tire and the try rebalancing them and everything comes back fine.
But when they go to put one of the rear rims on, its not quite lining up the the holes. I mean its very, very close. We take a look at the back of the wheel where the holes are drilled and BBS must have flinched or something because the holes were off by a millimeter or two and that's it!
So I called up Tire Rack explain the situation and the overnighted me a new one and now everything is fine. No vibration what so ever.
So take a GOOD look at the rims and the mounting holes. Compare each of them off of the car and see if one may be a little different. It only takes a little bit for it the vibrate.

bought these used out of the AW classifieds... pretty sure they are bent...
after having two straightend, 2 attempts at balancing, and swapping the spare rim in.. I can honestly say they are screwed..
