PIC REQUEST - S4 Sedan (not avant) with RS4 suspension...
#12
Can't say I agree with you.
I've owned and driven an A4 1.8Tq with Neuspeed/bilstein suspension, S4 avant with H&R Street Coilovers and an S4 Avant with KW V3 coilovers.
All three weren't harsh, didn't bottom out and handled quite well.
If you want to blow additional money for factory parts that will perform under other aftermarket options, go for it. It's your cash.
If you're so stuck on factory parts, just get new factory shocks and call it a day.

well, you have that experience and mine are a little different...
H&R: Was bouncy as hell, too low for the car, bottomed out and by far the worst suspension I've ever had
Neuspeed Sport/Bilstein: No bottoming out, one of the better ones designed, handled fine, but was too harsh for normal driving. The ratio between rear and front spring rate was not perfect so the suspension movement front to rear was not perfect, hence not such a great ride.
Neuspeed sport/Koni yellow: Could bump the shock up to be extremely stiff and create fine handling car. Still couldn't get it perfectly right for handling, the front to rear ratio again was not perect.
FK: too low, the ones with Koni yellows were pretty much the same as Neuspeed/Koni
KW: Was fine, a little harsh for my liking... very expensive.
I am NOT gonna spend a lot of money for audi parts... was simply asking if the upgrade to suspension of one of the best cars ever designed was worth it.
Let me put it in other words:
"Would it be worth $500 to upgrade to RS4 suspension with 15K miles on them? Is it going to be any better than current S4 suspension of mine with 50K miles on it?"
