Pirelli P Zero Neros 235/45/17 did just fit 2000 S4 OEM wheel
Wanted as much tire as I could put in there with the Stock wheel....was not sure they would go in there. The inside and top clearance at the suspension upper was REAL CLOSE!!! But I had the shop put one on a rim and tried it all on corners. JUST FITS. Only ran a few miles but they are great so far. Now to get an alignment, as the old left front tire was REAL WORN on the inside shoulder.

Just put on the 225/45/17 on the '00 S4, and i love them so far. Gave up some performance with teh switch from S03's, but not much. And...I can hear the engine again!
