place to add power steering fluid
Hi guys. Lately the pwer steering has been moaning even when I slightly turn the wheel. I had an oil change done last week at Pep boys who promised to top off all fluids, but I guess they missed that one. I don't have my manual near by, but while the coolant, oil and windshield wiper fluid are easily identifyable. This one is a little mystery.
Can someone tell me where it is located and what kind to add?
Thanks

Behind the driver's side headlight.
I think it's green with a black plastic trim piece around the cap.
BTW, I wouldn't trust pep boys with this. Mix the wrong coolant in the cooling system, and it will congeal. Mix the wrong power steering fluid and you'll eventually hear all kinds of bad noises out of your power steering rack/pump. You're better off buying the correct fluids from your dealer, and putting them in. You can search for additional details if you wish.

Did Pep Boys use a top of the line Fram filter (@ $2 ea) and their private label dino oil?
Dude, seriously - these cars need quality parts. Would hate to see you hurt an innocent S4 due to some tech who treats it just like his '78 Firebird (complete w/screaming chicken decal...). Power steering fluid is a light golden brown color, not red or any other dyed PS fluid. Make sure you get the right stuff.
And these power steering racks are known to lead fluid at the seals and fill the boots, so if you are losing significant fluid, this is a likely source.

Lol, the PepBoys here has a bunch of "enthusiasts" ... think 1/2 of them are Evo owners.
Don't know how good that is for the majority of the PB customers in 1990'ish Cutlass'es though. We always wave when I drive through the service bays to pick up cleaning supplies and such.
