Plastic nippple on Bailey DV broke...now what???
Looking for a possible boost leak and the plastic nipple on my Bailey DV snapped (brittle plastic). Went around town looking for something that could temporarily work and found nothing.
Has anyone had this happen? Does AWE sell parts (not original buyer)? Will i cause damage to drive (suspect CEL at min)?

Yeah, I've got the baileys and those little connectors at the top are a failure in an otherwise excellent design. What you can try to do is find some hose barbs - large hardware stores typically carry a good selection of sizes - and try to whittle one end down so that you can twist it in. Use some gasketmaker (available at auto parts stores) to seal it off at the base and hope this holds up.
Driving with one bad DV is not going to destroy your motor right away, but in the long run it needs to be addressed.

Thanks, going out for round two of McGyver supplies. All the plastic on this thing is so brittle...try to be nice to her and fix some nagging issues and she bites back. I've had more 'less than $3 parts' break on this thing...that saying 'only as good as the weakest part' so f-ing true with this car...

The nipple is 1/8" NPT to a 1/8" hose barb.
You can get a 1/8" NPT ell at Lowes or Home Depot, but the 1/8" NPT to 1/8" hose barb must be mail ordered.
The ell won't screw in w/o retapping the Bailey deeper. No drilling, but you need an 1/8" tap.
If you are really desperate and have a drill press and a file, you can buy a 1/8 NPT pipe plug. Drill it with a 7/64 or so bit and then chuck it in the drill press so you can use the file to turn the OD so the hose will fit on. It's a real short clamping area, so a tie wrap is about the only clamping option at that point.
I did this a couple weeks ago....and then ordered the hose barb off ebay. It's still set with the homemade one, but I'll put the longer barb in soon.
