Default And the plot thickens (my headlight saga)

So I thought either my bulb or ballast was broken because several people had told me my passenger light is much brighter than my drivers side light. I had them perfectly aligned when I switched to euros a year ago so I didnt think they were out. Anyway, last night I checked to be sure and yep my drivers side was aimed way way low. So I'm thinking 'great' this will be an easy fix, just turn the adjustment ***** and bam, done. HELL NO. the adjustment ***** turn but nothing happens. So today I take the headlight housing out of the car, pull off the back and have a look in, but I cant really tell anything because the adjustment mechanism is in the corner behind some plastic and I cant really see. I can tell that the adjustment mechanism is broken somehow.

Now Im thinking if I cant fix this Ill have to pay for a new headlight (sh*t) so with nothing to lose I break out my trusty dremel and my diamond blade and I cut a hole in the side so I can access the mechanism.

As you can see the plastic screw is broken from the other plastic part. I couldn't think of a great way to fix this so I could still adjust it so I just pulled it back and superglued it.

I then taped up the hole with electrical tape and put it back in the car.

As far as i can tell it is the same height as the passenger side or a tad higher, so I might be in good shape now. If it is the right height then ive saved myself $240, if not, then at least ive tried.

i'd think of a better way to seal that before you get water in there.

Default I concur...Consider something better to seal...

I'd use some type of small plastic cover, or a thin rubber sheet. Use either hot glue to seal or better yet a marine rubber cement.
