If getting a V1 means you won't have a laser jammer...
get the X50 and apply the $100 towards the laser jammer.
Getting both is not a small amount of money, but at this point laser is used widely enough that it's dangerous to just use a radar det without a laser jammer.
As to the differences...but are very good, and the differences aren't that significant in the grand scheme of things. It all boils down to whether you want the arrows. I have both, and my preference is towards the V1.
