5 - yes, 7 - yes, 10 - maybe
I really like everything about the car but after driving around a new A4 and sitting in the new S4 it makes me wonder. I do have a beater though so I don't rag out the S4. Probably get a used B6 S4 Avant if the opporunity arises in 5 years.

Man, I've been asking myself that question a lot lately.
I'm at about 32K miles with 14 months left on my lease. My Avant has been very reliable and I still love to drive it. But long-term reliability of the 2.7T engine concerns me, and it is a little small for my current needs (baby on the way.) But there really isn't anything out there that appeals to me--especially in the same price range.
As it stands now, I'll either have the car certified and buy it at the end of the lease and live with its space deficiencies. Or I'll turn it in and look for something new--but what?
I'd probably like a B6 S4 Avant, but it's only slightly larger, and the price is a bit steep. If Audi offered the Allroad V8 with a manual trans, I'd probably go with that, but they don't. I guess the new Subaru Legacy Wagon might be the best contender on the horizon.
*sigh* I wish it were as simple as keeping my Avant and not have to worry about its long-term reliability.
