NYC 911

has anyone ever had this problem? i just got my car back a few weeks ago from the shop (stolen and vandalized) they had to replace the ECU harness and i used my original ECU (they stole the ECU by cutting out the harness). Now the car seems to have issues re-starting e.g. when i shut the car off at a gas station the car sometimes refuses to fire, i wait or i pull the ECU (real PITA) and the car fires right back up!!!

any ideas? btw i VAG'd the car and i'm not throwing a single error on the engine side...

pleasehelp this is really frustrating as im afraid to drive the thing anywhere!

personally, I have never encountered this problem.

I suggest if this happenes often enough you should bring it back to the shop for a closer inspection.

and it worked. Car ran fine for about a week until I had a hiccup yesterday starting hot, but now it seems fine again.

Search the forum for "coolant temperature sensor" and you'll get diagrams, instructions, and a part number for what you need.

Kids tried to steal a brand new 500sl and decided cutting everything would turn off the alarm. They cut everything in the engine compartment. All the harnesses needed to be replaced. Labor total came out to $40K!! The guy just bought his car too.

Nah I don't work for the dealer but I have a couple friends that work up at eldorado hills mercedes. I'm up there every once and awhile. It was a trip seeing a new SL totally torn apart! I might be able to catch the meet this week. I should be around unless something comes up.
