Pros and cons of Studs vs. bolts
I'm thinking about doing this because I don't seem to have patience with the bolts at all, especially when swapping out track tires/rims.
The thing is that the dang holes never seem to line up, and so I have to sit there for 15 minutes fudging with lining up the rotor and the hat (when applicable) with the wheel while I impress everyone with my third hand that I've grown just for this purpose.
Any reason not to do the stud conversion?

nope. Do it, and save the hub from being accidentally stripped. If you find a source..
post it because I've been willing to do that, just been kinda uggh lazy to do some researh ;P
Actually, I bought some studs back then for the A4, but they turned out too short for my wheels. Oops.
Pros - cheaper than lug bolts. Easy to attach spacers. Brake rotor won't spin around hub because we don't have an allen screw squeezing them together which BMW got to use first. Stripping lugs and nuts is cheap.
Cons, if you get them too long, they may not fit a wheel with covered bolt holes. But you can always get shorter studs. Another con, some none german car owner may say you are copying him

If you use the plastic doo-hickey in your tool box, wheel replacement is a breeze
The centering rings will keep the wheel laterally in place, and the plastic thingy ensures that the wheel goes on perfect in a rotational sense. I did my wheels this weekend, and it was easy.

Actually, we talked to Paul about this the other day...
He basically said that it comes down to convenience. Converting to studs just makes tire changes that much easier.
I'm actually considering it as well, but my problem is I need longer lugs for the track wheels than the Avus', and if I ran studs, I'd have them sticking out far on the Avus rims, and just right on the track rims, so it might look ghetto...
I'll just suffer for now, but I feel your pain.

Does it make sense : the same lugnuts that fit in the rear and put in the front lock up brake rotors
