...the harness clip will not work, and the line length may not be right depending on what sensor you are replacing, but the O2 sensor when spliced in works.

Just match the colors, and no worry on the white wires.

Thanks to Paul @ Tantrumwerks for the part number. VW sensor costs about $25 to $35.

sounds like if someone looked up the part number for the car-side VW connector and spliced the sensor side connector from the S4 to it, you'd have a perfect adapter cable. hmmm

I did the passenger side pre-cat one. What a PITA. I don't think I'll try the driver's side one, can hardly get to it.

mine was the post cat sensor, driver side, the easiest of the 4...
