Default Question about all the vac check-valves ......

Why are many of these even necessary? For example, the PCV system has 2 connections, one to the intake manifold and one to the Y-pipe. Blow-by goes to the intake manifold under vac and to the Y-pipe under boost. Why not just always send it to the Y-pipe? Same thing with the activated charcoal loopie deal. Obviously some are necessary (like for the N249 vac reservoir), but some seem pointless. Can someone enlighten me?

Default Regarding the PCV....

By having it go to the intake manifold under vacuum, that significantly reduces the amount of your oil in your intake.
