Question about ESP
How exactly does it work? There is a very specific corner around my house that would always set off ESP if I took it at anything more than about 10 MPH (side road left with a big hump on the outside.) With the coilovers, I find that I can take the corner faster without Mr. ESP shutting me down.
Is it based on suspension travel?

You may have been getting a slight wheel hop...
...or at least more unweighting, with the stock suspension. The coilovers probably pin the wheels to the ground, resulting in less ESP activity. Just my non-expert opinion. 8^)

hmmm....i always thought those things used
lateral inertial sensors. actually i know thats part of it, but there may be more involved. perhaps more inertial sensors placed in different orientations (or more likley yaw/pitch sensors)help to detect movement in other directions. i really don't know...but it is interesting, as I've never seen it kick on on dry road pavement without me entering into the corner/trun too too fast...
