Question: How difficult would it be to "clone" my Sportec chip?

Like let's say I wanted to make a duplicate copy of the chip so I could run it in another S4. I'm guessing this is pretty damn near impossible? Otherwise everyone would be doing it and GIAC, APR, etc. would be out of business by now?

id imagine they use an encryption board. if not, it shouldnt be too hard if you have the equipment

sportec has your file, why not just buy a chip from them?

Just take your ECU out and put it in the other car.

are you saying a sportec chip and support isn't worth the money?

HIS4 07-19-2005 04:18 PM

The reason he's asking is probably because Autosport Werks is no longer doing Sportec.

They probably had the file but the guy who did the programming is no longer there. AMS does Sportec but I don't think they have access to the same file since it was custom.
