Question for those with Dealer santioned mods
I am chipping my car...SOON! My dealer is offering to do it and has said they could care less if I do it (even with someone else). Now, here's my question. If they tell me I can do it and they will not void my warranty, is there any way that AoA could find out WITHOUT the dealer telling them? I believe the diagnostic reports don't indicate the mod but is there some other way they could find out? If I blow a turbo, for example, does AoA "investigate" the cause enough to find out about the chip? Any thoughts on dealer sanctioned mods not voiding warranty would help. THANKS!
2000 Silver & Onyx w/ Silver Alcantara (Miami, FL)

WHAT???? Give me a break.
Nonsense. If you lie under oath, it's perjury, and that won't happen until you go to court or someone takes your deposition. Proving fraud is FAR more complicated than this. They'd have to prove that AoA was actually defrauded. And I can't imagine any prosecutor on earth who hasn't got better things to do than get involved in a warranty dispute! If Audi showed up in my office and wanted a prosection based on something like thise -- we'd laugh them out of the building.

I'm not saying that they'll prosecute...
I'm simply said that telling them that you have not chipped the car when they're trying to determine the cause of a warranty repair is a case of fraud. Its no different than you telling the insurance company that you, for example, had your car stolen, when in fact you dumped it in the nearby river.
And it means when they deny your warranty claim and you labor under the incorrect belief that you can take them to court about it, you don't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning, since at that point you WILL be under oath.
Most warranties are written as insurance policies by the warranty underwriter. Submitting a false warranty claim is just like submitting a false insurance claim.

George is correct, assuming the question is related to warrenty coverage.. Ask ANY lawyer.
You are lying in order to steal goods and services.
Doesn't matter if they _should_ cover it, if you lie, and get caught, you will lose any chance at legal recourse to denial of warrenty.
Jim De Arras
