Default Question on V1 Install...

Curious about this...

As I live with my V1 for the past few days I am pondering other mounting options...

The upper edge of the windshield to the right of the mirror is it's current location.

How about top left of windshield...?
How about the back window? The forward pointing sensor is huge, think that might work?
The upper edge to the left of the mirror might work, but will interfere with the drivers side sunvisor...

I've got to hard wire it asap...that wire from the cig lighter sucks ****. And I need the lighter back.

just rambling...

Mine is clipped to the passenger visor, flush with the center light console

Default a common placement is right below the left side of the rearview...this is where mine is and it is

perfect placement imho because it has perfect view of ahead and behind (unlink visor mounted) and it has not gotten in my way because it is high enough up on the windshield. Mine is hardwired but i can't seem to figure out how to keep the cord from falling out of where i tucked it in above the windshield. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Default

Wrap some tape, either double sided or sticky side out around the cord, then tuck into headliner

Default i've tried that with electrical tape and it seems the heat causes it to lose its stick, should i

wrap tape around it in one spot just so that it is bulky enough not to slip out or am i trying to tape it in there?

Default Go for bulk rather than stickyness, but sticky side out helps a bit

Or you could do what I did. Get your windshield replaced due to a crack and have the guy put it in nice and snug for you

But before then, a small amount of electrical tape sticky side out prevented it from ever coming down for me.

Default I wouldn't put it anywhere your head may be travelling in an accident...

unless you want the directional arrows impregnated on your dome, that is. But in all seriousness, much worse could happen if your head struck that, not worth the risk.

I had mine hardwired right above the right side of the rearview mirror, and once i got my concealed display I moved it down a bit- I can't see any part of the unit, but the rear-facing sensor sticks out from behind the right side of the mirror, if that makes sense. I know, TPIWWP, but use your imaginations.
