Default Quick question on HRE clearing big brakes

Will the HRE 18X7.5 clear stoptechs or other bigbrake kits?

I have a buddy that got a sweet deal on (front) 18x7.5 and 18X8.5 (rear) and he's concerned about clearance for his brakes (when he gets around to upgrading the brakes) on his 97 1.8T

I think he's planning on running 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 to keep the rolling diam as close as possible.

I know the 255s will clear no problem in the rear for the S4....any diff on the 97 1.8t?

TIA

Default any suggestion for these 7.5x18 and 8.5x18 setup?

what's the problem with the 225 and 255 setup, since the rolling diameter is nearly identical.

Obviously the performance benefit of 30mm wider rear tires is minimal and maybe argumentative.

Any suggestions?

Default Depends on the model. High offset with the 400 series and you may have problems.

400 series has flat faced spokes.

500 series has curved face spokes, which allows more clearance for big brakes.
