Raced a Volvo S70, 1st Gen Eclipse, and C5 vette tonite.....
This was at the late nite drags. The S70 was modified, and I spoke with him in the past and he said he beat a stock S4 so i figured he may be fast. I did a mild 3-4K RPM launch and never looked back.
There was a modified eclipse ther 1st gen w/ pop-up lights that challenged me for a lil one on one. I knew it was pretty quick and thought I might lose. He ran 14s flat last some time ago and I've seen him take on a modified NSX it was very close and I can't remember who won. We lined up I was ahead by a little bit at the launch,(4-5K rpm) he was within a car length for most of the race I think I started pulling away mid 3rd gear. Very close! We went again after but he jumped the gun a bit and shot out ahead of me, but i think i started to gain while in 3rd but we ran outta room. There was a 1st Gen Talon there same style as the eclipse, and he smoked the C5 vette. It didn't have a chance. NONE. It's known to be in the 11's.
Last up was the c5 vette. We pulled up and had the hole shot as he fought to get traction. Then I suddenly pulled away fast and for a split second i thought i was kicking his *** (in my dreams) but then i realized he missed a gear. Oh well. It was a good feeling for that 2/ths of a second. We lined up again and I launched close to 6K rpm. I was actually ahead of the vette for the first 2 gears! At 3rd i was still ahead but i could see it slowly creeping on me in my driver's side mirror. Mid 3rd he was inside a car length by the end of the gear he was passed me, in the few seconds of 4th i was in he was ahead and pulling slowly away. It still made my day though.
Well it's been quite a day. I think I'm gonna lay low for a bit andlet the car rest til tuesday morning.
