Default On a related note to the post below, another observation after having both hybrids and OEM K04s.....

Everyone talks about the issue of hybrids tapering a lot and wastegates not being adjust correctly, but my OEM K04s taper about the same amount as my K16 hybrids did (18ish peak to 15ish at redline with MBC only). Just a random point I've been meaning to mention here on AW.

Default Funny how some of the shelf-coded kits actually maintain or go up in boost with RPMs.

Is there any way to prevent taper with MBC settings?

Default K04 kits have it built in for n75 duty cycle to increase as RPMs rise to fight TIP, etc I guess?

Jacob mentioned to me he might have an answer for less taper with MBC only, but never went any further. I think he was waiting to test it before revealing it. Anyway, I'm going to wait and see if taper gets worse at higher boost. I wouldn't mind 3 psi taper like 22-->19 with full fueling. If it tapers more, adjust wastegates I guess.

Yeah, not sure. Part of the table coding I guess.

A bit offtopic...but do K04's and K16's taper towards redline because of software or the turbos?

That "solution" is supposed to be bolted to my turbos whenever I actually get them.

Default personally I think software...

My car doesn't taper nearly as much now as it used to. Actually....I think my boost tapers up.

Default both play a part in it because you can do a lot with the frequency valve to control the actuators

but once you get to a certain point the exhaust pressure in the turbine housing is going to open the wastegates before you want them to open. Then you have to increase your a/r or play with different actuators.
