Removal of Seat-Belt Side Panels

Does anyone know how to remove the panels that cover the pillar that the front seatbelts attach to beside of the front seats. I can't find anything about it on the forums and I really need to remove mine so that I can run speaker wire into the rear doors.

Well, I tried that, starting at the very top, but the plastic started to crack instead of actually coming off.
