Schedule for Saturday, May 12th, 2001:

1) meet at Kensico dam at 10am

2) "spirited" drive at 12pm

3) lunch at Royal Palace at 1:30 pm (phone 914-289-1988)
(buffet, approx $10 per person)
we will probably hang out for a little while after lunch too,
the parking lot for the restaurant is nicely accomodating.

Suggestions/Requests:
1) Bring some cash, there will most likely be
a few people at the meet with some great car stuff
to sell really cheap (I am not included, I got nothing to sell)
2) Things that would be really helpful:
I would really appreciate it if any of you kind souls
would bring the following: cordless dremel, drill, VAG tool
(I need the dremel and drill to modify my plastic rear plate holder)
3) Directions to a self wash are all the way at the bottom of the
message
4) This meet is open to all Audi/VW enthusiasts and you CAN bring
friends/family

Directions to the Kensico dam (10am to 12pm)

FROM MANHATTAN:
East Side
East River Drive North to Willis Avenue Bridge onto Major Deegan North which becomes New York State Thruway. Take EXIT 8 onto Route 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway). Leave Route 287 at EXIT 4 (Route 100 A Hartsdale). Make a right off the exit. Left at second traffic light
(left when you're on the overpass thingy). That puts you on Rt 119 towards White Plains. Go straight on 119 until you see signs for the Bronx River Parkway.. Get onto the Bronx River Parkway North. Stay on the Bronx River Parkway North for about 5 minutes, and you should see the dam in front of you... it's kinda hard to miss... we'll be in the parking lot at the bottom of the dam, in the park.
West Side
West Side Highway North onto Henry Hudson Parkway North - Saw Mill River Parkway to Cross Westchester Expressway Route 287 East - proceed as above.


FROM BRONX:
Bronx River Parkway to Kensico Dam circle. Simple enough, just enter
the Kensico River Park - you can see it from the traffic light.

FROM LONG ISLAND:
Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Parkway. North to EXIT 13, (Cross County Parkway West) Bronx River Parkway to Kensico Dam Plaza.

FROM CONNECTICUT:
Route 95 South
Route 287 Cross Westchester Expressway (Westbound) to EXIT 4 (Route 100 A Hartsdale). Make a left off the exit. Left at second traffic light

PUTNAM COUNTY AND NORTH:
Taconic Parkway
Take Taconic Parkway South to Sprain Brook Parkway\Bronx River Parkway split. Bear right at split follow signs Bronx River Parkway\White Plains. Take Parkway 1/2 mile to first traffic light (Stevens Avenue). Make left onto Stevens Avenue, Funeral Home on left.

FROM NEW JERSEY:
George Washington Bridge
George Washigton Bridge to Major Deegan North, which becomes New York State Thruway. Take EXIT 8 onto Route 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway). Leave Route 287 at EXIT 4 (Route 100 A Hartsdale). Left off Exit onto 100 A North and proceed two (2) miles to traffic light - Getty Gas Station on corner (Grasslands Road). Go straight thru light 1/2 mile to right turn onto Lakeview Avenue (Gray Rock Monument on right). Proceed about 1/2 mile on Lakeview Avenue to traffic light (Taconic Parkway). Left onto parkway North one (1) mile to Stevens Avenue (Two (2) traffic lights) Right onto Stevens Avenue Funeral Home on left.
Tappan Zee Bridge
Take EXIT 8 onto Route 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway). Leave Route 287 at EXIT 4 (Route 100 A Hartsdale). Left off Exit onto 100 A North and proceed two (2) miles to traffic light - Getty Gas Station on corner (Grasslands Road). Go straight thru light 1/2 mile to right turn onto Lakeview Avenue (Gray Rock Monument on right). Proceed about 1/2 mile on Lakeview Avenue to traffic light (Taconic Parkway). Self wash directions:
by the way, this place is great. Just make sure
you bring your own sponge and drying towels. It's a
high pressure wash.

If you're coming from the Saw Mill River Parkway, the self
wash is off the Thornwood exit - you can also take the sprain
north to the saw mill parkway north, and the thornwood exit
is right there. If you take the thornwood exit, make a left
at the exit, and the self wash is on your right.

If you are going from Kensico to the self wash, make a left out
of the Kensico parking area, then make your first left. Make another
left to get onto route 22. Make a left onto West Lake Drive and
go over the dam. Make a right onto Columbus Avenue at the end of
Westlake Drive. Go down Columbus Ave past the Saw Mill Parkway Entrance.
(You'll have to go down Columbus Ave for about 2 miles)
The self wash is on your right opposite the entrance to the
Saw Mill Parkway.
