Default well, here's the piece that you broke

It's part of the heater core. There's one on each side at 11 and 1 o'clock on the bell housing.

The piece circled in red is what you broke. You'll need to replace the entire hose there, as it looks like you broke it and the actual plastic fitting is still stuck there.

It can be done with it in the car, but will be a mighty PITA. The best approach to this may be just to pull the engine forward a couple of inches, that will give you plenty of room to replace it.

not handy, no. Anyone with ETKA should be able to get it for you though.

Default According to ETKA, it's the return hose for the heater core. ETKA lists two part #s:

8D0 819 373 R
8D0 819 373 AF

Both have the same description and both are for LHD.

I'll see if I can figure out which is which.

Default Here's the ETKA diagram:

It looks like the part you broke is the R/AF part, not AQ. AQ looks like the longer, angled, sweeping hose that attaches to the pass. side of the motor.

Beats me...maybe the ETKA diagram is out of whack...

No, it's AQ. You can tell by the engine code on the right (S4 is APB)

Default Yes but that is only discernable for the two different feed lines. What about the two return lines?

Which one is which in that picture NigelS4 posted?
