By Request: - DIY Audi LE37T Volk Caps
Time: 2 leisurely hours
Parts:
(4) Light Grey Audi AEZ Cap - # 4B0-601-170-Z17 - $15 from Clair
or
(4) Dark Gray Audi AEZ Cap - #4B0-601-170-7ZJ - $15 from Clair
Wire Cutters
Sandpaper
1 Dry Erase Marker
High Heat, Waterproof Rubber Cement Glue
Process:
1. Remove center caps from Volks
2. Clean the hell outta them w/ goo gone
3. Remove the copper ring and clean if you haven't already done so
4. Take copper ring, put it on top of the cap and trace the outer diameter w/ a dry erase marker
5. Use wire cutters to carefully cut around the outside of the outline. This part is pretty tedious but it's important to take your time. You don't want to split the plastic so be sure to only cut in small increments. Make sure to cut on the outside of the outline and sand in so it's a tight fit.
6. Dremmel or sand to smooth and fit the cap. You want the cap to be a tight fit but you also want it to be level. If you see it goes in but it's at a slight angle, take it out and dremmel a little more until it sits flat. (there should be very little if no play at all)
7. Squeeze some glue around the inside of the metal cap.
8. Squeeze the Audi Caps into the volks metal caps.
9. Let Dry for 24hrs.
10. Install
I'm pretty sure that's it. If you have any questions let me know.
