Requesting more info on upgraded blowoff valves

Two ways to go...
The Bosch Bypass Valves/Bailey Valves that
are floating around are most likely do it yourself
(at least the Bosch is), but in the case of the Bosch there is quite a bit of conflict going on about what is what, and who is selling what.
Or, you could go to an atmospheric Blowoff Valve.
Instead of recycling the air blown off by the turbo (as the Bypass valves do), the BOV's blow the air out into the open
(cool sound, but some claim the system will run rich...OK, the Bypass valves [BPV] takes the turbo blowoff from between shifts and dumps it back into the system. This is metered air that the system expects so it adds fuel for complete combustion and to keep you from running lean. But AG at Greedspeed put a post up earlier on the Perf. forum that disputes this in stating that the ECU would not add fuel to the system if a BOV is installed, yadda, yadda, yadda). The BOV's need to be installed by a pro as you will need custom tubing made to fit the BOV's. I like my HKS SS BOV, but it is a personal decision. Any of these will most likely be far better at preventing boost creep (leakage), than the stock valve.<p>Audi A41.8TQA

HKS SS BOV, TAP cat/downpipe, etc.)

the EVO blowoff valve did cause a rich condition after a few days of driving!!!more!!
AWE is working with bailey on producing a blowoff variant that will work with bosch motronic ECU! the bailey bypass valve works incredibly though, on my car for near 2 months and perfect!

ARP, I'm not sure about that. It's my understanding that the Bosch ECU (more)
was set up to work properly ONLY with the recirculating valves. However,I believe (AWE?)is developing an atmospheric valve specifically for the S4.I could be wrong, though(sheepish grin).

Oh, and if it isn't an HKS BOV, don't buy it (all other BOV's [read Blitz, Apexi, and GReddy] leak)
