Road trip: Ottawa, Montreal... Now THIS Is what a Stage 3 S4 was born to do. (xpost)

With no work, no real place to go, and a car that's just hungry to eat up to highway miles, a summer road trip was the only logical thing to do. I recently put K04s and fueling into the thing, so I've been dying to test out its long haul road worthiness on a trip like this.

Though I don't really have plans on how far, or how long, I think by the end of it, I'll have covered over 2000 miles.

Jul 7, 2008; Montreal, QC, CAN; You get used to the speed of a Stage 3 really fast. But one of the best things about owning one is the "holy ****" face other people have when they get a chance to drive it.

Jul 9, 2008; Stittsville, ON, CAN; That's a welfare Mercedes Benz C300 on the left that's kinda hot looking... But then you see it beside real understated elegance and you say, "Umm, yeah. I'll take the blue one, thanks." :P Hard to imagine how well the B5 design is still holding up today--13 years later.

Jul 10, 2008; Calabogie, ON, CAN; No cottages, no boats, no annoying kids on jet skis. Just a whole lot of uncatalyzed exhaust fumes. :D

Jul 10, 2008; Perth, ON, CAN; 15 tonnes. That sounds about right for the S4.

More to come soon.

Next week: Quebec City, New Brunswick, PEI. Maybe Halifax and Cape Breton, too.

Nice pics dude! And I really like the shot next to the C300 - I totally agree!

The track is open to the public when there are no races going on.

When I lived in Montreal, I went cycling there all the time. There's a posted speed limit of 30 km/h around the track. With the amount of security cameras and cops around, you won't be able to get away with much, but you can try. :D

Silver Streakin' 07-11-2008 08:16 AM

sounds like fun. no helmet?

bingS4 07-11-2008 08:17 AM

I like the license plate, though it's undefined in both ASCII and EBCIDIC so I'm stumped...

Great pictures!
