Default rubber bushing not centered on rear tracksport shock

just whack it with a mallet till its centered again? theres got to be a better way, some way to compress the bushing to ease it back in?

could you perhaps describe "the rubber" in greater detail, like WHERE it is?

Default oh, on the rear shock

there are 2 rubber bushings, one on either end of the shock. one end has a much larger bushing, this is the one im talking about. One side of the rubber bushing is flush and the other side therefore sticks out too much.

Default now I follow you. Here is what I would do...

Ideal:

Put the shock end in a press, put a bottom plate on to allow the bushing to pass through, then press a little bit from the top to center it.

Alternative:

Put the shock end in a vice. Put a large socket or tube on the end you want the bushing to push out a bit more, and press from the other end.

Lastly:

Put the metal part of the shock end against something that will not move and allow the bushing to pass through. Hit the other end with a dead blow mallet.

How bad is it off? if it's off so much that you can't even see the rubber on the one end, don't install it. If there is some amount of rubber sticking out, but just less than the other side, I would just install it. If it's a small variance that is. Once installed, the offset change of a couple MM isn't going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.

Can you take a picture to see how off it is?

Default one side is completly flush with the metal housing, it definately needs to be fixed.

the press or vice is ideal, just hope the shop has somthing the right size for the shock like you said, tube/socket.

if they have a press, they'll have plates that'll do the same trick...
