Running problems after MTM stage 1 (throttle now adapted)

see previous thread: https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/threads/504830.phtml#1438881)

Okay so over lunch I ran out and plugged in my VAG-COM and ran the Throttle Adaptation routine. Guess what, it worked! So now it is adapted. I also ran the test for the throttle angle sensors and they passed as well. So can I assume my throttle is functioning normally?

So I took it for a test drive. All tests were WOT accel tests starting from 2nd gear or higher. The running conditions were unchanged:

1. Hesitation under 2100rpm is worse than stock ECU program
2. More turbo lag than with stock ECU.
3. Acceleration has surges and jerks (worse than stock). It goes like this: press WOT and get slow acceleration up to 2100 and you a large surge as the turbos spool and acceleration builds but there is subtle shuddering in the acceleration after that >2800. It almost feels like the ECU is slow or inconsistent in manipulating boost control pressure (could this be the N75?). Acceleration is not smooth.

There are NO engine DTC's being produced.

What the heck is going on? Some people have suggested boost leaks, sure I buy that but shouldn't that show up in the DTC's?

Is there anyone in the MPLS area with MTM/6spd experience who would be willing to drive this thing and see if the problems are real?

I'd put money on a leak. You won't always get a code and...

increased boost from the chip would make the problem more visible while chipped.

I don't understand

I should remove the rubber stopper? How will that change or is that impacting the calibration tests?

didn't that only apply to MY01's sir?

Michael, could be any number of things but..

I would make sure you used the right Octane, also, after you adapt the throttle it does take the car a few miles to "learn" if that makes sense. You could have a chip for a different ECU ( doubtful ) but there could be any number of reasons. Possible boost leak as well.

Question for the MiniPig

Are you in the detriot area? If you are i will be their friday maybe goign to the strip or just in town. I would like if we could meet maybe you could teach me to launch the car and also i have a question about the car you might be able to answer. Let me know

I am having an S4 g2g at my house on Saturday maybe. Shoot me an e-mail. I promise not to make fun of the car too much but I will still try to talk you into taking some off :p

Drive it until readiness is all OK.

It may be a bit confused until it learns your engine.
