S4 handles great in the snow - not as well when the slightest touch of the throttle starts putting down almost 400whp though. Also, clearance is terrible, especially with the low *** bilstien H&R combo. I went over a small pile of snow to get into my neighborhood off of the main road and managed to pull one of the exhaust sleeves off..
The ground clearance wasn't an issue until this morning. On Saturday even with 8 inches of snow on the road, it was packed down pretty flat. I was flying down the roads. But now there are huge ruts with chunks of ice in between them so now I have to be extra careful.

oh yeah, those are a great way to tear holes in the bumper.

Be very careful wehen driving in deep icy ruts the aluminum oil pans can definitely crack if you hit them - ask me how I know!

Get ready for more snow tonight. This is my first Quattro with winter tires. Never really thought I needed them but they came with the car. Winter tires make a big difference...

Way to jinx me guys, thanks. So tonight on my drive home from snowboarding, I'm ridding behind this semi that is going down the middle of the road and won't give me enough room on either side to pass. As if he wasn't pissing me off enough, as I'm ridding behind him, a giant chunk of snow/ice falls out from under the trailer. Short of inevitably spinning out by trying to doge it, there was nothing I could do but hid the damn thing dead on. It made a bit of a thud but I didn't think too much of it until I pulled in somewhere and heard my fan making a lot of noise. I look back at the car and saw that the whole center part of the bumper is smashed out. I could have flipped. I got the thing tied back on with some steel wire I had so at least I can drive it for a few days till I get it fixed but the bumper cover is toast. Awesome... What do bumper covers go for these days anyway? And if anyone has a spare one lying around (particularly Nogaro which would save me a paint job) I'm interested.
