Default S4 2.7 tiptronic transmission problem and code

So about 2 months ago, I decided that it's time to rebuild the K03 turbos because it had original 124k miles. Yes, it was leaking like I was doing an oil change. When the charge pipe was removed, oil pour out and gave me a shower.

Finally everything was completed and put back together. It drove fine for about 100 miles within 6 weeks and then it starts to feel like the transmission was slipping when going about 30mph-40mph. Eventually it went into limp mode with all the PND432 light on and a massive loss of power. I hooked up my vag-com and pull these codes:

Saturday,28,August,2010,10:01:48:48909
VCDS Version: Release 10.6.0 (x64)
Data version: 20100630

Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 01V-927-156.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 8D0 927 156 BS
Component and/or Version: AG5 01V 2.7l5VT USA 3132
Software Coding: 00002
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000
VCID: 7F03FAC55796
2 Faults Found:

17087 - Brake Switch (F): Electrical Malfunction
P0703 - 35-00 - -
17118 - Gear 4: Incorrect Ratio
P0734 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I first did a transmission filter change with new fluid from Blauparts. the problem continued to persist. The steps and prociedures that was taken to fill up was from this site: http://www.audiction.com/audi-mainte...-fluid-change/

I am pretty sure it was done correctly with the Vag-com.

I've been reading a lot of forums and it seems that either the transmission is junk or the torque converter may have been shot. There were recalls on the TC but I don't think it was ever swapped. I am not the original owner.

The questions are:

Have anyone swapped out their torque converter for a fix?

Have anyone experience this problem and what was done for a fix?

What is the chances that the turbo went out and then after 100 miles later the transmission is out?

Thanks in advance

Default UPDATES

Ok, I've driven the car and waited overnight. I was able to add 1 more quart of Pentosin ATF1 after cycling through the gears but now fluid is not dripping out of the fill hole to comfirm a full level. This will already be my 9th quart that I have filled with.

I now notice only gear 1,2, and 3 drives perfectly but 4th and 5th will not engage at all. The RMP will spike all the way to 6k RPM and the car will not move with it's in 4th and 5th gear.

The instruction mention at least 7 quarts, what is the max capacity the s4 tiptronic transmission hold with TC? I have search days and nights for this information but nothing. Maybe I am using the wrong key words for my search?

Please help. I

I assume you
were able to get the trans fluid to over 80 degrees Celsius correct? That is when the thermostat opens and allows fluid to fill and flow into the trans oil cooler. I am not sure of the 100% fill capacity, but if it is not flowing when the car is level and the engine running then according to the bentley manual it requires fluid. Any chance you have a leak? also doing the fill when fluid is between 30-40 degrees Celsius or 30-35 I cant recall right now.

Whelp it could be a few things but since you are actually seeing complete slippage in 4th and 5th I'd say the clutch band and/or plates for those gears are gone. It could be one of the solenoids in the valve body or the ATF pump but, again, the fact the car doesnt accelerate in 4th and 5th gears and just revs leads me to believe the clutch band/plates are worn and and IIRC 4th and 5th gear work off the same hardware, so both gears grenade together. You need to find a GOOD auto trans shop in your area and have it checked out but it seems to me it is time for a rebuild...if they are going in there to do 4th and 5th might as well rebuild the rest of the gears too.

Any mods on the car? Ever change the ATF fluid before your problems started?

edit: PS, when I did ATF flushes, it required 10+ qts, make sure your fill is complete before crapping your pants over a possible rebuild. There is also an established procedure to cycle through the gears as well. Here is the link for the ZF trans (5HPFLA19). Page 6 tells you how to refill.

edit2: a bad torque converter usually throws a different code like torque converter switch stuck ON and the TC won't lockup so the revs are higher but there is NO slippage. This code is a result of a bad seal on the TC which leaks.

Read this procedure to do a fluid/filter change.

No sorry, nothing new. I am sure that the culprit is the transmission itself that is bad.
