Default S4 driving habits...

I have tried taking my S4 on a bunch of different road surfaces conditions and have some wierd observations that have led me to be disappointed with the overall feel.

I went through a puddle which was maybe 2 inches deep and only the passenger side tires went through it. While going through it, I got a weird feeling as if the car was floating. Is this normal? No it didn't feel like hydroplaning, it felt different.

I took a left hand turn a little faster than normal and I got that same floating feeling and tons of understeer which didn't make me happy at all. it felt as if the car wanted to slide out perpendicular to the direction the car was driving. Again what is this (other than my poor driving abilities)?

The S4 is the first car I have felt these things in, and I want to know if this is what quattro feels like or is it just the way the car's suspension and handling is setup?

PS I got jacked by an MR2 spyder today. He decided to race me when I wasn't in the mood--also the area has been known as a great spot for cops hiding in the side streets (can't afford another ticket). He assumed my 3k shifts were an indication of a race. He went around a turn at about 75 miles per hour with tires screeching and car sliding. I'm glad I didn't race him because he would have slide into the driver side of my car. He went flying through a signal light with his hazards on--I wasn't too happy at this point. I wonder if he realized when I hit the brakes in to slow down to 25 mph right when he gunned it as an indication that I wasn't racing. I guess I'll have to see if there is a story on an MR2 board of how he beat an S4 that wasn't trying to race. Jeez... this is as bad as those M3 folks racing Ferraris (well Ferraris that are parked on the street) and talking about how they destroyed the car. Damn, sorry to let you guys down.

MR2 Spyder is a piece of ****! 150 HP or something like that ... Can't imagine that thing can put up any good numbers.

I would guess my chipped 1.8t would keep up with it ?

Default 0-60 in about 7 seconds .. 1.8t chipped would hand around.

Should have gone with more HP. At least 175 if not 200 would have made it more attractive for the enthusiast. They are obviously marketing it for mass consumption.

Default MR2 would kill a S4 on a track, it corners so damn fast and has brakes to die for ...

Far better than RS4 brakes, desperatly needs the 190bhp celica engine at least but power is not everything. When i test drove one on track i didnt want to hand it back. Its a toy thou. Very chaep interior materials as well, interior door handles are rubbish.
