Have not driven a recent 3 series. My S4 clutch is light and smooth...have never noticed it being "long".

if you have short legs its long, but only to start the car

My S4 clutch is very light and smooth and not long for shifting. Only long when starting the car. Have to push it all the way to the floor then.
