S4 Mods
Allright all of you S4 owners, what is next? Chip, exhaust, air intake, 18+8.5 wheels and tires, what do you have planned? What companies should I trust to make sure it all fits correctly? I was an Audi coupe owner in 88, then in 95 I got an M3, now I am back to Audi with my soon to take delivery S4.
I also plan on selling my wheels and tires (if not bald) around the first of the new year.....Any takers?..........

Re: S4 Mods
after talking to a friend of mine who has a Euro S4 I plan on doing the following to mine (next 12mo.).
1) Install springs to lower another 25mm.
2) Install low restriction air filter.
3) Install chip-MTM, Wett ?? Don't know now.
4) Possibly have rotors slotted/new pads.
5) Upgrade tires.
Long Term (12/24mo.)
1) Install Adj. Bilsteins.
2) Install short shifter.
3) Possible 18" wheels.

Re: S4 Mods
Any reason for the slotted rotors? In my experience they really dont help all that much depending on the pad you are using and the air venting the brakes have. Plus they reduce the longevity of the rotors.
Definitely no bonus on the street, on a track there CAN be a bonus, but it depends on how hard you drive the car and a bunch of other things. If you have like 15" rotors, I will admit, you start to get into issues where air just cant get to parts, but by slotting you remove mass. That mass is what absorbs the heat of you stopping, it can also radiate that heat off. If you slot the rotor, you have less mass, but the same amount of heat. So that same heat is absorbed by that smaller mass, of course it can still only radiate heat by the surface contact area, which is reduced due to the slotting... BUT with large rotors the "effective" surface area is increased..
Oh well.. Just wondering.
