Default S4 and RS4 coming to America, get your checkbooks out.

Hey all-

Some info I learned in the last several days;
AoA is going to bring the new RS4 over to the States with the launch of the new S4. Time table is 14 months...both cars avail at the same time! Both cars will have light weight alum block V8's, I'm assuming very close the cuurent weight of the 2.7TT. The S4 will have aprox 360hp V8 and the RS4 will have more than 400hp. The S4 will be normally aspirated. I'm not sure about the RS4.

The pics you have seen from diff mags and internet sites are not correct. These are of the car(s) in testing but not the correct sheet metal. Both the S4 and RS4 will have different sheet metal and will be aggressive in shape, more so than the current S4.

Both cars will be avail in 6spd tiptronic or 6 spd manual.

I've already claimed the no. 1 spot for an RS4 at my dealer.

RS6 Avant is due in the future as well.. no plans for RS6 or S6 sedan and no plans for an RS8.

Coupe quattro is coming, but I don't know specifics about whether it will be avail as an S model or not.

Default Well, that makes a little more sense...

new S4 = V8
new RS4 = blown V8

MmmMmm, if the RS4 comes here, I will be buying one!

Default Hmmm. I hope you are not B.S.ing. I think we are more likely to see an Skyline GTR than that...

Then again, it looks like we might get the new Skyline GTR at last, so who knows... 8-)

Default I'd hope that there would be more than 40hp to differentiate the RS4 from the S4

I'd think the new S4 would be 330-340hp or so and the rs4 around 420... that's just my guess though.

It'll rock as much as a 5-speed tip, which is to say not as much as a manual

Default And I reserved my R8 at my dealer today too...

What kind of dealer would put you on a list for a car that nobody even knows exists? It would be like those people who bought Pan Am tickets to the moon. I would be happy to see these cars come to the US, but until I hear something official, I'll keep savin up for my moon trip.
