Default S4 service intervals

Guys,

Question, I dropped my S4 off today for it's 15K mile oil change plus a few other stuff and low and behold Audi doesn't cover a oil change at 15K, is this correct? The service tech said that Audi recommends an oil change, i.e. paid change at 20K. This sounds like total BS to me, I want to know if you guys have had the same experience.

5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 are the service intervals. Oil changes b/w are on you.

Default The car doesn't need a 15k oil change.

Believe the oil company hype all you want, but the engine doesn't need the oil changes more then once every 10k after the first couple changes.

Default Since when are oil changes not under warranty? All of mine have been paid for by Audi.

The only thing is that I bring my own oil, but I could just let them use whatever they use and it would be free...

Default From what I understand

Only 2001 S4's are subject to this and not 2000's. I don't know if I want to stretch out oil changes every 10K miles even with 0W-30 Mobil 1. Thoughts guys?

Default Oil changes ARE under warranty; rather Audi says for 2001+ you only need them at 5K, 10K + every 10K

Whether you believe 10K is a reasonable oil/filter interval is completely up to you. Part of me says Audi knows what they're doing, but a big part has a problem even with 5K...
