S4 Tip chipping Q.

S4 Tip chipping Q.
This is from a newbie. I just got a S4 2001 Tip and would like to find out which chip should I use? GIAC or APR.
This is my understanding and correct me if I'm wrong. The GIAC chip has another chip for tiptronoic, does APR have one for the same? Can someone explain this a bit more?
Any reasonable and RELAIBLE places around Metro DC?
SRY TOO MANY QUESTIONS
Thanks

I have an 02 Tip with GIAC...
The car's power range is between 4k-7k rpm. I havn't tried APR. As for the Tiptronic chip, GIAC is the only one that offers it for our B5 S4s, and is seperate from the ECU(motor)chip. You can mix and match APR ECU and GIAC TCU(tip). It doesnt matter, the tip chip just gives you faster, crisper, shifts between gears. The GIAC Tip chip is a good mod, regardless if your ECU is chipped or not. Search the Archieves for more info.

Induktion (located in Hanover, MD) is a top-notch GIAC dealer. You can mix and match the GIAC and
APR ECU chips with the GIAC tip chip, though there is a $100 discount if you get both from GIAC.
I think the APR EMCS feature (integrated into the cruise control stalk) is pretty cool and superior to GIAC's IBE chipswitch (which uses a sometimes less reliable remote) -- which I'm still waiting for after more than a year.

Re: S4 Tip chipping Q.
All this Info is Great.
One more question. I understand that chipping violates the warranty, which I will resolve by getting another ECU but what should I do about the TIP chipping? What can I do to get by?
