S4MadMan: 0, Dodge Viper RT/10: 1
 

Well, I finally went up against a real Big Dawg and lost. I was taken by a Viper. Not the Viper GTS mind you. This was the significantly slower first generation Viper but still faster than me. =)

Framingham Dodge is about a mile from where I live so I see quite a few Vipers in the area. I finally got a chance to race an older Viper...

We raced from street light to street light four times, up to 85-95mph+ or so before we shut down. Each time he really didn't pull on me until the middle of 3rd gear. I was quite surprised. Here are the details:

End of my 1st Gear: Even to I was ahead by 1/2 car.

End of my 2nd Gear: Viper pulls a bit and is ahead by 1/4 to 1/2 car.

Middle of my 3rd Gear: Viper starts to pull: ahead by 1 to 1.5 cars

End of my 3rd Gear: Viper ahead by about 2 cars and pulling.

I'm sure from a rolling start I woulda been toast. The guy in the Viper couldn't believe I was keeping up and kept shaking his head in disbelief, pointed at me giving me thumbs up. It was a very cool run and he was one cool customer.

Having driven a Dodger Viper GTS, I can't believe how slow in comparison the older Vipers are. I'll tell ya now the Z06 would have been pulling on this older Viper BAD.

There's a guy with a heavily modded new Sapphire Blue Viper GTS with the race strip down the middle (good for 20hp) running around here. It's supposed to be running low 11s, all motor. I gotta check that out. =)

GTS merging by me on M-59...I couldn't touch him once we started going at it from 60 mph...dropped..
 

it in 3rd....hammered it...but I was no match for his couple extra engines...sucked, though this was when I first got the car and I was stock.

MadMan, you need to come up here. I'm not sure about taking a GTS,
 

but at 9000ft you would have taken the older viper. I give e46 M3 a run for their money STOCK and C5 Vettes are no longer a threat, hehe.
