Default Oops, forgot to add text... hehehe.

Anyhow, I went to test drive a manual S4 (already drove the tip, like the manual SO much better) and get a few things on my A6 taken care of. I was standing outside of the service center talking with the Audi service guy when all of a sudden this thunderous noise erupts from inside of the service area.

We go running over to see what it was, and much to our dismay we saw someone lying on the ground, holding their face. What had happened was, someone was prepping a beautiful new 911TT (pretty sure, didn't get a great look at the car) for delivery and the airbag had gone off and hit him in the face. It was extremley tense for a good 10 minutes until paramedics arrived. The mechanic didn't look too bad, not really any bleeding form what I could see, possibly a broken jaw/nose, but still.. just goes to show you what can happen if you don't take the precautions necessary when working on a car.

Default to tip or not to tip..

Hey now, I didn't dis the tip... well, not directly at least, heck my A6 is tip, I like it! I mean come on though, a car like the S4 in anything other than manual? I could understand getting a tip if it was the last S4 in the country or something, but wow that 6 speed was nice.

Default really?...

I drove a couple and compaired to my other cars
I found the six speed to be really sloppy. sort of like a mystery shifter. I guess thats why so many folks mod their shifters, (and end up damaging their transmissions in a lot of cases) anyway I like the Tip in my S4 Avant and I especially like the paddle shifters in the steering wheel...to each his own I guess.

Maybe I got one with a nice 6 speed, or maybe I was just really excited about the test drive, and would have loved it if I had to shift with my teeth. I'll agree that the steering wheel tip buttons are a nice addition (wish my A6 had those), but what do you mean damaging transmitions? I think I read another thread about transmitions being hurt when short shifters are added. I'm a little (ok, a lot) confused though, because that seems like such a popular mod.

What would make an airbag go off for no reason?
