I think that the amp is toast in my car.

I've a good friend who's an electrical engineer and will likely be able to tell if it's a leaky electrolytic or a bad connection somewhere.

At any rate, if anybody has the schematics or knows where I can purchase them, it would help considerably shorten the time to repair.

I'll be happy to share what it was and what we did on AW afterwards.

Symptom: Front speakers sound like poorly tuned FM radio. It gets (much) worse when it's wet out.

It's one of 3 things, I believe:

1. Bad Wiring
2. Bad Speakers
3. Bad Amp

The Wiring & Speakers should be pretty easy to test & trace. However, the amp will take some doing.

mine's been doing it since the weather's gotten colder. literally, if i don't turn the heat on in the morning, it will crackle all the way to work. with the heat on though, or on a warm day, nothing.
