has been changed. Who knows. My question is, is there anyway to tell if it has been changed buy not taking the car apart? TIA-

The easiest way would be to contanct the previous owner and ask. Short of pulling things apart.....
to see if the parts are OEM, I can't think of anyway of telling.
Some "kits" use aftermarket waterpumps/thermostats so that would tell you those were replaced (and most would have replaced the timing belt with those.
Not so sure it's an 'easy' thing to check.

If it was ever serviced by a dealer, they can run the VIN and pull it up in their computer...
When I bought mine from Audi in 6/03, they pulled the service history for me and I found out the prior owner got a dime stuck in the ashtray and got a new one put in. Random, but interesting. Could be worth a check?

You'll have to go in and look. Some people use nail polish or white-out to mark where things should
line up on re-install and that would indicate some work done in there. You may not be able to tell just from looking at the belt as one with lots of miles might actually look pretty good but you won't know.
