Seeking unbiased opinions on any of the Chips for the S4 -->>
I am seriously considering chipping the S4, and I am planning on taking a road-trip to AWE in Philly PA in the next couple of weeks to have a test drive of their chipped Avant (GIAC I believe). [yes, the $100 gift certificate I won @ AvantFest is burning a hole in my pocket]
But thought I would poll some users...
How would you describe the feel of your S4 after chipping?
- I can't tell the difference.
- It feels somewhat faster.
- It feels significantly faster!
- Holly ****, this thing is friggin' fast!
Please feel free to add any other colorful anecdotes to describe your impressions.
TIA :-)

Based on "assumption"
With a chip alone, the reaction would be somewhere between "<i>- It feels significantly faster!</i>" and "<i>- Holly ****, this thing is friggin' fast!</i>"
But that's just what I would assume would happen after chipping. I've been in both stock and chipped/modded cars and it's a Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde kind of thing.

If I were looking, I would seriously consider GIAC, but thats just me, and I have an a-hole too
I would look into it. I've only ridden in one with GIAC, so I would need to do more of that before I decided.
As you can see, I have no basis for my comment, which you may find in a lot of other comments.
You probably won't find enough people unsatisfied with their chip vendor (at least any common theme enough to base a decision on). One person may have a bad experience, then 3 others will tell you how happy they are. Just draw up a piece of paper and throw a dart.

From what I hear they are all about the same, here's the best analogy I can give.
Take every gear,
and drop it down one.
the pull is soo sick the pull you got in second gear stock is now 3rd gear and all the way up!
6th gear is like a 3rd turbo so to speak.

Just went with an APR 2+. Shouldn't have installed yet as I have not put in my downpipes. Stock 145mph, toggled on for test run against 911, chipped 170mph+ comfortably. Steady pull all the way through 6500, ran out of road before tach'ing and traffic was building. A8 Stuttgart

Stratmosphere will send you a 30 day loaner
I talk to Strat and they offered to send me a 30 day loaner no strings attached. See if you can get a similar offer from others. Or drive the AWE car, then get the Strat ECU and compare. At least that way, you get to see 2 different options.

I think anyone of them ... (more)
are great chips. I have the ABT chip and the difference is huge. The torque on my car is just unbelieveable. I chose the ABT chip because I live 10 min. away from AMS, so if I have a problem I can just stop by. Either way you will be very happy, but I would consider buying an extra ECU, sort of a cheap insurance. But thats just my 2cents.
