I'm sure all car companies will soon offer XM or Sirus as an upgrade option. Just a matter of time as the demand seems to be there. No commercials, more variety, virtually limitless coverage. Is it worth the $10-15 a month?.. Depends on your local FM/AM coverage I suppose and how far you normally drive..

Default Also depends on your Internet connection and CD burner speed...

Since I've switched from DSL to cable modem, I have been downloading music so fast I haven't even listened to all I've downloaded yet. There are also tools that allow you to dump shoutcast streams into mp3s for burning to CD (and shoutcast definitely has variety for any genre you might like). But this could be cool if the stations keep up with the latest forms of each type of music.

Default Hmm......still kind of crazy though when you think about it....paying for radio. They

do play some good stuff when I've listened to it, but I don't listen to enough radio to spend 10-15 a month on it.

Default I'd rather pay for...

...a 128-192kbps satellite-provided internet stream to my car, so that I can stream from any of the thousands of existing Internet radio stations out there. I dont' want to be locked into XM's programming.

Default Well, there are a few that cashed out early in the 80's and 90's sitting on a beach as we speak..

I think by now, everyone has probably learned to become a bit more prudent. Hell I started watching that at $5.00 and i couldn't pulled the trigger. Now at $13.... 2 years ago I woulnt have thot twice. So here I am on AW forum instead of
MclarenF1 forum...:-)

Default I'd agree. And in addition, there IS something to be said for a human commenting on the songs

I haven't heard XM, but do they have DJ's?? I listen to KCRW (NPR) and in the evenings, the DJ's are really good, and provide great information about the track and the music they are about to play.

And then the paying for radio is a whole another issue.

My *** is permanently sore.
