Seriously considering coming over from A4 Forum...
Started looking into getting a used 2000 S4. Anything I should look for or be concerned with? What is the ballpark cost for a used one? I have a '98 A4QMS and love it. It was either going with PES SC or dig deep and go big with S4.

Re: Seriously considering coming over from A4 Forum...
MY 2000 has some first generation issues. Some of those could be:
1)Bad rubber on the TBB or F Hose
This is really easy to fix yourself and the TBB revised part seems to be holding well.
2)We have DV valve issues, just as I'm sure you do too
3)There are concerns about the earlier built turbos so make sure you get an Audi Assured used car w/ 5 year warrenty.
4)The Blowtenza used on the earlier models well blow
I'd look if the turbo were replaced, if there are signs of chipping and what weight and interval the oil changes were. IE was it well maintained with 0w-30 or 5w-30 oil.
Lastly this forum is 1/2 as friendly as the A4 Forum, so getting used to the new forum culture will be more of pain then buying an S4...

Ballpark cost on a used 2000 is about $31k-$34k depending on mileage & condition.
You & your wallet should concerned with mods. You won't be able to resist! :-)

Re: Forums ...
Have you browsed the A4 Forum lately? It's like a friggin' high school cafeteria over there. I bet only ½ the content posted is even remotely related to cars, let alone Audis. In the 5 years I've been around, the A4 Forum is definitely at it's lowest right now. : (

Re: Forums ...
I think there is a vast difference between the forums
1)S4 Agrressive, arguementive and allows little deviation from S4 content
2)A4 High school caffeteria is the best way to describe, but they seem very accepting of newbies and insipid questions
3)TT forum seems kinda Support group like, little techincal discussion, repeated Zaino disccusions. Good place to be if you want moral support
