Should have seen all the sales guys trying to get my car today!
The Quattro club had a meeting at the dealership today and 3 different sales guys came up to me and wanted to know if I wanted to trade in my car.
I left out one small point... I had FOR SALE signs up on my car and in front of the store!
I told them when they wanted to give me a FAIR amount for my car I would talk. I told them $32k for my car IS NOT FAIR and that they will turn around and sell it for $36K/$37K and sell it in 2 days!
I told them I wanted $36k for my, they told me that was too high. I told them it was too high for them but not for me to sell it outright!
One guy told me they had an identical car coming next week for the pre-owned lot. I'll have to sneak over and see how much they want for it.

Nick, i hate to tell you ...
if a dealer can get $36/$37k on the lot then you are not likely to get that via private sale. remember they mark up considerably since there's a good chance they'll have to drop to make the sale.
not to be a party pooper but look at the average retail and average private sale values from kbb.com
or edmunds.com...i don't know what your mileage is so i can't determine myself.
when i sold my 94 300ZX i used the average retail (dealer) figures for about 4 months with out any luck - and my Z was in mint condition w/ over $4k in mods...with the only visible mod being exhaust. so it didn't look raced or ricey.
yes it sucks! cause what the car is worth to you is usually far greater than what people are willing to pay.
on the other hand there's always a few people out there that don't mind paying asking price. i only dropped $200 off of my $16k asking price for the TTZ.

;-)
i seriously hope so for his sake...but i thought the same on my Z: average miles, mint condition, performance-only stealth modifications...not a lot of good condition TTZ's on the road.
still had to back off a few thousand from kbb.com average dealer retail.
good luck Nick :-)
