Default Should I go with Turbo XS BPV instead of Bailey Motorsport?

Okay, okay. The fact that I have Bailey Motorsport BV30 in the sig. below is a bit of a fib. I was about to order them though, from APR, when they informed me that they no longer carry them. The person who answered the phone got word that the reason was because of "problems" they have been having with them. I hear nothing but good things about Bailey valves on this forum. Then I hear the Turbo XS valves have metal inerds (unlike the lower grade inerds of the Bailey valve) and are scalable to much higher boost levels later on. Has anyone else heard about this?

Default What problems with Bailey BPV's?

There has been one, perhaps two, "problems" posted on AudiWorld regarding the Bailey valves.

Compare that to tons of problems with the stock Bosch valves along with some issues with the early Forge valves (has since been corrected), and I'd say the Bailey's have the best track record so far.

Not too many folks seem to have the Turbo XS BPV's. I do recall one guy posting something about the heavy metal (brass perhaps?) internals making the valve act "sluggish", or something like that. The Turbo XS valves are also a lot taller than Forge/Bailey/Bosch making it tough to refit the plastic engine shroud (from what I recall).

You might want to do an archive search for Turbo XS and see what you turn up.

Default TurboXS won't fit with the engine cover on.

You'd have to run without the engine cover. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. I understand they're excellent valves.

Default Thanks for the advice!

I think I'll go with the Bailey Motorsports still.
