SHS member is now one eyed monster! Damn... passengar side headlight is down...help!
How do I determine what is wrong?
i'm assuming there are 3 possibilties...
1. bulb
2. ballast.
3. wiring.
MORE INFO: the bulb seems to flicker as i flip the lights on. they flicker for a second then fizzle out. I still have my corner bulb working. Its raining outside so I havent' been ble to dig too much into it. Anyone know how far the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the housing goes? it seems to go back and down a bit, but it was dark and rainy...so i didn't get a good look...
grrr...i hope i dont' need brand new ballast. how much do ballasts run again? retail on new bulbs are about $100 each right? anyone got stock bulbs or ballasts for sale (for example some of you HID stage 3 heros?!!)? if stock ballast is busted an dstock ballast is expensive...are aftermarket hero ballasts and cheaper? damn damn damn...stop raining...need to get toe the bottom of this.

SHS revokings! Sir, I think it's the ballast but best to try this...
...first:
1) Switch bulbs, if the working bulb does not fire up in the other ballast, it's most likely the ballast.
2) If the bulb does work, try the bulb in question on the other ballast.
3) Check the wiring.
4) Make sure the wiring, connectors and bulbs have not been saturate (gotten wet)
A new ballast from the Dealer costs: ~$375 each
A new Osram Xenarc Bulb costs: ~$125-$150 each
Cheaper to buy SPP Stage 3 HERO ballasts: ~$475/pair.

hmm...never happened to me before...then again...its been raining or drizzling for days on end
and there was a wet spell just before too, with only a day or two of dry weather between...
does this mean i have to worry everytime its damp out? grr...if this is the case, i'm going to epoxy seal whatever is vulnerable after it dries out.
who the heck designs the environmental protection on these things? oh well, i'm still complaining now...thanks for the help.
