Default Slight "gear" whine. I'm getting a very slight whine from the front of my car. I hear it when going
at least 10MPH and higher. I can hear it when the car is either in gear or in neutral (6MT). The sounds rises and falls as the car speeds up and slows down. It sounds like the trans, but not sure.

Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Maybe. It's so faint that it's hard to hear if the pitch changes when I turn.

Default In neutral, the whole input side is still turning... no?
With or w/o clutch engaged makes more sense to me.

So press the clutch when in neutral and see if it goes away? If so, what does that mean?
