Default "tear"

"tare" is used when you are weighing things ;-)

so your hesitation is one you floor it, it takes a second before the car goes? you sure you're not just noticing the turbo lag?

Default It's not even pronounced like that :-P

it's like 'Conair', but with a 'T'

almost like 'tawn-air'

Default (corrected), i get acceleration, then mild hesitation...

so i get some "umph" after stomping on it...then less than 1/2 a second later i get the hesitation, then the "umph" comes back on 100%.

Sounds like a loose/blown off vacuum line or blown intake hose...

Default Any boost leak could result in these symptoms

If you have aftermarket BPV's put the stock ones back in and see what happens.

Check the TBB and F-hose as well...

Do you have a VAG tool? Any trouble codes?

Does the "two-stage" acceleration seem more pronounced in first-gear launch or pretty much the same in any gear?
